Early Christmas Closures
The Government has made clear that keeping schools open is a “national priority” after an academy trust revealed plans to close primary schools early for Xmas.
There are, of course, various trains of thoughts on this. Is the risk of coronavirus being transmitted in schools high enough to mean any early closures may stem the transmission? On the other hand, the UK has seen such high levels of disruption to children’s education that many may think it is imperative that as much time as possible is spent in classrooms.
There has, undoubtedly, been higher than normal levels of absence both of children and teachers either due to infections, isolations, or just plain fear of the virus.
What do you think? Should schools continue, whatever the risks?
